Head Louse – Treatment and Remedy

Head Louse – What To Look For?

Primarily Head Louse are found in the hair close to the scalp, most frequently around the ears and the nape of the neck. They may be difficult to find in the hair because they tend to hide and grooming and scratching keep their numbers down.

Usually you will see eggs attached to the hair. These eggs are called Nits and are oval, yellowish-white, and firmly attached to the hair with a cement-like substance. You may also find your child scratching – lice have a similar irritation to your scalp as mosquitos to your skin, so an itchy irritation occurs. Small red dots indicate where the head lice have been feeding.

It is important to remember that “live” eggs (Nits) are found close to the scalp – they need the moisture and warmth near the scalp to hatch. Any egg found one centimetre or more along the hair shaft (from the scalp) is either hatched or dead. “Live” eggs Pop when crushed between fingernails and dead or hatched eggs don’t. Dandruff, hair particles, dead eggs or empty Head Lice eggshells are often mistaken for “live” eggs.

Once more, Head Lice infestation is not a reflection of personal hygiene – they come from personal contact with another person that has them.

The only way to rid your child and your family of Head Lice is to use a proven system regularly. “Head Louse Gone” is one such system. Take a look at http://www.head-louse-gone.com

Good Luck with your quest.

Logic and Reality: Taking Charge of Your Own Health

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

One of the important things about taking responsibility for your own health (and this means relying on physicians, nurses, and even bloggers as consultants) is realizing that the information given has to be weighed by you and that you have to make the ultimate decisions about your health.

It also means that some of the things you will come to realize initially don’t make sense. But they work.

One of my daughters inherited fairly delicate skin from me. In other words, she breaks out easily. This is from early childhood. I was the same way in childhood.

One of the things that has plagued her for years is a skin irritation in and around her ears. Various ointments will solve the problem temporarily, but it always came back.

The “logical” thing is to think that this is a problem of the summer months. That it’s an issue of sweating, and heat, and humidity.

But that logic is wrong. The problem — while it breaks out in moist areas such as behind the ear — tended to go away during the warmer months. Which doesn’t make sense. Until you realize that the warmer months are the times when we get the most sun exposure. Winter — while the humidity is lowered, and folks tend to sweat less — is the time when the sun is low in the sky, and it’s usually too cold to get out in the sun much, anyway.

The problem basically went away when we realized early that our daughter’s problem was curable with UV exposure. Mostly, that’s from the sun. (When it’s winter, and sun exposure is more difficult, use a tanning bed. Tanning beds — as I’ve pointed out elsewhere — are wonderful devices, and deserve far more credit that we as a society give them. They’re not just for white high school girls wanting to look less white).

What’s the lesson here? When you have a health problem, look at what seems logical to cure it, and then look at the opposite, and consider that that might be the answer. If a doctor is recommending surgery, consider whether diet might solve the problem. If the doctor’s recommending pills, ask yourself whether exercise might solve your complaint.

You have to live with whatever cure you choose to use. Very seldom is the problem so urgent that you can’t take a few days to ponder the alternatives. Use that time. Think about what’s been suggested, and see if that’s what ultimately makes sense to you.

Frankly My Dear, Thanks For Giving A Damn!

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

That would be music to your ears! Hearing your clients say, thanks for giving a damn! And how often have you felt appreciated? All the time? Most of the time? Or seldom?

Well it’s not that difficult to do! What I’m about to share may surprise you – hopefully it reinforces what you’ve known all
along. So here it is:

It’s Not About You!

Let me explain. At six years old, I learned that giving my audience/customer what they wanted was the only way to get what I wanted – in my case, appreciation, applause and money.

Here’s what happened.

I have 2 younger brothers who, bless their hearts, are curious. So it was easy back then to get them to come and sit on little
crates in front of my stage. I watched them waiting eagerly from behind my makeshift curtain (torn bed sheet).

I was trembling with excitement, ready to enchant my audience! My toddler sister didn’t much care what was going on; she just wanted to be with us. So she sat too.

They paid a penny each to watch the performance. And I – well yes, I acted the lead role in a play of my own design. And of course, I thought I was brilliant!

Well, for the first minute or so… then the kids left, chattering among themselves, totally oblivious to me.

They even grabbed the pennies back! They took the refund seriously! And here I was in the middle of reciting an ode to the Birch, mimicking the wind blowing through the leaves. My customers never did give me what I wanted. Truth is, I forgot to give a damn about what they wanted!

Your Customer Wants Very Badly To Feel Good!

So what did I do? Before I share how I finally kept the money and satisfied my audience/customer, I’d like you to consider these questions.

In your own business, do your customers stay for
the duration?

Does your audience anticipate a finale? Or do they
get up and walk out?

Maybe they don’t even show up?

Are they getting value? Are you losing the pennies
or mega dollars?

Do they feel like you give a damn about them?

I’m referring to the performance your web site or your sales letter does on your business behalf. How about your business card or brochure? Is it pulling in your customer? Is it giving them a powerful benefit-based, emotionally driven “craving”, to do business with you? Do they get the message you care
about their needs?

Because,It’s All About Them!

The truth is, if your marketing and business mission is to deluge them with reams of information about you, then you’ve made no impact!

That’s right, no impact! No value! Your customer wants to know what’s in it for them.

Bottom line: There’s only one way to hear those sweet words from your customer base, “Thanks!” and that’s to give them what they want, powerful, benefit-based, emotionally-driven promise that you care. Because, being and staying in business is Not About You!

How To Collect And Keep The Dime!

Eventually I shared the stage by promising each of them could perform as well. They saw a greater value in this arrangement than just watching me! In fact, they were willing to pay me to let them perform solo!

I learned a valuable sales lesson – my audience/customer truly wants to feel part of my business, not a commodity outside looking in. And as long as I was willing to be vulnerable, so were they. And the key, know your audience/customer! What do they really want from you?

Is the Carwash Industry Moving Towards Fully Automated Robotic Touch Less?

Friday, August 1st, 2008

There are certainly some in the carwash manufacturing industry who are attempting to move the market to incorporate more fully automated robotic touch less carwashes. How could anyone blame them? The trade journals as well are reporting on this, of course guess who their biggest advertisers are? Many industry leaders estimate and theorize that in fact this trend is the future of car washing.

Well of course this is the theory, although one should be fore warned who; one talks to. If you are thinking of investing in a car wash you need to talk with the customers and their thoughts before buying that line of reasoning hook line and sinker. In fact you may find customer preference trumps someone else’s theory on how to make the most money and do the least amount of work.

Due to the rollovers long use of brushes and poor carwash experience you may find customers are not so into fully automated anything, without a little more educating and that means advertising and overcoming their perceptions, which of course equates to the expense to do so. You see so many folks driver newer nicer cars; 15.5M, 16.1M 17.1M 17M sold in recent years and people are hesitant towards machines, although often price can over come this. Price points of $5 in larger cities or $3-4 for basic robotic run-thru in other areas seem to help change consumer preference.

You see there are different categories of washes and most people do not like the roll over car washes and therefore those at the gas stations are not washing so many cars really, many are in disrepair, under utilized and that that is a waste of space or RE. It might be better to a $3.00 Burrito and Taco Stand on them. You would make more money, not have to deal with environmental? You see the issues?

Most of the carwashes you see are automated without attendants, but they do not do volume. We will soon be at a point that a no-touch car wash can actually clean the car well. I believe a light crew, one-two dryers after massive air blow and greeter would be best on a Flex Service, sublet a detail area on the side, if space permitted. And go for massive volume. Think on this.
