The story of Stephen A. Schwarzman is one of generosity and a strong work ethic. Schwarzman went to high school in the School District of Abington. After graduating from high school he decided to study further at the internationally esteemed Yale University in Connecticut and received his bachelor’s degree in 1969. Harvard Business School was the obvious next step in his education, where he graduated in 1972. Once he had finished his time at college, Stephen started a career at Lehman Brothers investment bank. Before reaching his thirty-second birthday, he was already a managing director. Stephen A. Schwarzman volunteered his time as an assistant professor at the widely respected Yale School of Business Management and also gives financial support to a number of charitable organizations, educational programs, and the arts. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in New York, New York. What is more, he told the media on March 11th, 2008 that he had committed $100 million to the New York Public Library to help in financing their expansion. He also serves on the board of trustees.
