Yee Peng Lit with Thai Lanterns

Asia is invariably full with celebrations, many of the most amazing of which go on in the South East. Not astonishingly Thailand is the base of Thai Lanterns and are today advancing in popularity as they hit a bigger audience.Yee Peng festival which follows the Buddhist Calendar and translates to month 12 is one of these festivals. The West Calendar ordinarily finds this falling in November. Loy Krathong is what you will pick up it referred to if you happen to be in new part of Thailand. The Thai people follow this religious festival and the traditions it demands. Freeing the ‘Khom Loy’ or ‘Thai Lanterns’ is my most treasured function of the event. Watching the Lanterns illuminate the nightsky is a truly brilliant vision to lay eyes on. Thai people believe that the going lantern is companied by any sufferings. The light is said to head people to a bright and complete living. I am not sure if westerners grasp the comparable belief but each year see’s many joining in on this fun event. Bamboo chassis with a Rice Paper shell is how these Thai Lanterns are manufactured in a biodegradeable way.Popularity has been on the rise (excuse the pun)
